Design solution The design abstracts the elevated timber homestead and uses bricks to regulate temperatures throughout the ground and first floor spaces.
Environmentally sustainable design The floor works to hold and store cool and heat so it regulates the temperature of the internal spaces ... it is always shaded by the brick breezewall above so the spaces stay cool in the summer months, which is very important in Queensland.
Benefits The bricks form a veil and act as a shading device for the internal lower areas, as well as creating a permeable layer for air to flow through.
