The Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation Ltd has been formed to address the shortage of bricklayers with programmes run on a national basis. A national campaign has been launched and will address the shortage in the trade in New South Wales, Queensland, VIC, and ACT. There are plans to roll out the programmes in the remaining states during the next twelve months.

The ABBTF comprises members of the Clay Brick and Paver Institute, The Concrete Masonry Association of Australia, The Housing Industry Association, Master Builders Australia, Building Practitioners and a TAFE college.
